Environmental Audits
Sailer Environmental, Inc. has extensive
experience in performing environmental audits
to assess our industrial and commercial
clients’ compliance with a broad range
of environmental laws and regulations. SEI's
staff has conducted environmental audits
of manufacturing plants, chemical and petrochemical
facilities, R&D laboratories and RCRA
hazardous waste (TSD) facilities in New
Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Texas,
Louisiana, Maryland, Indiana and Ontario,
Canada. Often these environmental audits
are conducted with a nationally recognized
health and safety firm to include issues
regulated by OSHA. When necessary, SEI also
includes other professionals in its audit
team to ensure that all facets of an environmental
audit are completed with appropriate and
experienced personnel.
SEI
is well aware of the serious nature of environmental
auditing, particularly the potential liabilities
associated with the discovery and reporting
of adverse audit findings, and the need
for proper and complete documentation of
the corrective measures to be taken. Similarly,
SEI's staff is aware of the significant
benefits from environmental audits if identified
issues are addressed in a timely manner.
In order to balance the potential risks
with the benefits of a properly executed
audit, SEI often works with clients’
environmental counsel from the inception
of an audit, allowing SEI to fully discuss
any environmental issues including clients’
interpretation of specific regulations before
committing its conclusions to writing.
SEI's environmental audits typically include
the following:
-
Inspection of the facility operations
-
Examination of the facility operating
records
-
Interviews with environmental compliance
staff
-
Discussions with operations personnel
-
Review of environmental management practices
-
Review of facility permits
-
Preparation of recommendations
